Crossing Through Heaven’s Countryside

Reading John 14 tells me that when I die you can believe that I left this place knowing there is a new home waiting for me. Jesus said he would prepare a place for believers where there are many mansions. Even though I once walked in sin I asked God to forgive me and I know the shed blood of Jesus makes my sins become white as snow. Isaiah 1:18 (KJV) 18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
with those thoughts in mind
**The following poem was written after I asked God to help me write comforting words I would want my friends and family to ponder on when I leave this old earth behind. **
Crossing Through Heaven’s Countryside
Move on without me even though it will cause you grief.
Time swiftly passes by us all – time on earth is brief.
The grave site no longer holds me,
I’m staying with the Lord of all.
Jesus promised to receive me,
I followed when I heard him call.
There’s a place of many mansions
surely that’s where I will reside.
I am walking with my Jesus
crossing through heaven’s countryside.
Do not grieve as unbelievers
who neglect faith that gives us sight.
Cling tightly to his promises
knowing Jesus’ blood makes sin white.
Jesus has risen from the dead
his followers will stand up, too.
God gives resurrection power
Believers have no other view.
A grave on earth will not keep me
you cannot converse with me there.
May God bless the many mem’ries
you and I were able to share.
Draw closer to our Lord Jesus
clinging to Holy words he said.
He’ll give you hope and purpose
He’ll give you life giving bread.
