If You Spread Lies People Who Listen To You Accept Lies

I  wondered if any of the pastors that allow lies to be spread in their churches understand that the people who flock to their churches will end up having to be the type of people that accept lies?

If that’s the type of congregation they want then that is what they will get. I’d rather spend time with 2 or 3 truth tellers than spend time with a group of 1,000 or more liars.

WARNING!

The Word of God says that we are to have nothing to do with deeds of darkness.

If your pastor tells lies then you are going to the wrong church.

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

Ephesians 5:11 (KJV)

Some People Give The Enemy Too Much Credit

Have you ever heard someone talk about the devil too much?

Some People Give The Enemy Too Much Credit But You Do Need To Resist The devil

The enemy has always wanted to try to steal glory from God.

Is it any wonder that he gets some people to think & talk about him and the demons a lot?

The devil is to be resisted.  He can be resisted.  You can resist the devil and that old ugly spirited one will flee.

Draw near to God.  Talk to the Lord.  Read the Word of God.  Praise God.  Do what you know is right.

When you are busy doing what you know is right you are closing the door on the enemy.

The enemy seeks to destroy people.  We are to be wise about his ways and to understand the way he traps people.

People that use the tools of satan will be opening the door to him.

Students in the medical field are taught that germs and bacteria can invade the body causing harm.  If there is a portal of entry that makes it easier for bacteria to get inside the body a lot of harm can come to your body.  Some times death can occur if a poisonous substance gets into the blood stream.

The tools of satan are toxic to your spiritual man. You really do not want to give the enemy a way to destroy your spiritual life.

When you do things that are against God you are using tools satan provides.

Galatians 5 tells us about works of the flesh.  The enemy cannot force you to follow the flesh.   A person chooses whether or not they will follow the flesh or whether they will follow God.

A list of some of the works of the flesh:

  • adultery
  • fornication (this includes harlotry, incest, idolatry, unlawful lust done by male or female)
  • uncleanness (impurity & filthiness)
  • lasciviousness (licentiousness & wantonness- promiscuous and unprincipled in sexual matters)
  • idolatry (the worship of a physical objects or making things  or people more important than God  &/or having a devotion or unholy attachment to something or someone)
  • witchcraft (magic & sorcery – evil manifestations & substances used to alter the mind)
  • hatred (hostility & enmity)
  • variance (quarrels, contention, debate, & strife)
  • emulations (jealousy, malice, envying, fervent mind toward doing evil, zealous indignation toward evil)
  • wrath (indignation)
  • strife (to exhibit bitterness or violence )
  • seditions (to excite resistance to holy authority)
  • heresies (denial of truth found in God’s Word)
  • envying (wanting what belongs to another)
  • murders
  • drunkenness (excess use of alcohol)
  • revellings and things  like that  (reveling is also carousing which usually involves partying to the point of walking in sin)

People who do those type of things must repent and turn from their wicked ways or they will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Know ye not ye are the temple of the Living God?  1 Corinthians 3:16-17  (KJV),
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

If you walk with the Lord you will not want to do things that displease God.  You will also want to stay away from doing things that open the door to the enemy.

When anyone opens the door for the enemy they may lose some protection that God wants them to have.

If you recognize any area of your life that needs changed go talk to the Lord quickly asking Him to cleanse you and set you free from anything that does not come from him.

If anyone says they have not sinned then the truth is not in them.

The Lord promises that if you confess your sin he will be faithful to cleanse you.  See 1 John 1:8-9 (KJV) , “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

RECALL THAT GOD HAS MORE POWER THAN THE ENEMY!

Also see James 4:7-11  (KJV),
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.”

Who Is A Wise Man? Who Is Wise Among You?

Blessing and cursing should not come forth from the same mouth.

God wants us to bless others.  We are not supposed to be cursing at people or cursing when we speak.

Ephesians 4v29 tells us that no corrupt communication should proceed out of our mouths.  and James 3v13 says that we should share good conversation using wisdom.

We should be sharing words that help teach people holiness.  Our speech should give grace to those who hear what we have to say.

Words from the KJV James Chapter 3 – “8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.”

Jealousy Is A Nasty Spirit

I could probably write many things to express how nasty jealousy is.

At this time I am quickly reminded of three things some other women said to me that let me know they had a problem.

I don’t know if they still feel the way they felt when they were talking with me but I do hope and pray they receive deliverance from that evil stuff.

The first woman saw me when I was on a date about three years after my husband had died.

She looked at me and said something that made it sound as though she was jealous that I was able to date other men.

I was shocked by her comment.  I would have preferred to have been able to  have Jeff Wolfe still alive and with us than to be in the position of dating again.

The second woman visited me when I made a move to a larger home than the one I had been living in.    She looked at me and made a comment telling me that she was sincerely jealous of all the storage space I had.  OH!  She claimed to be a Christian and she worked with people in the ministry on a regular basis.  She wasn’t kidding when she said she was jealous of the home I got that had more storage space.  I found out slick things she did to get herself into a larger home of her own.  I do not envy her.  As a matter of fact once I realized the things she did to obtain her big beautiful home I made a decision that I prefer to stay away from her as much as possible.

Jealousy is a nasty spirit.

Avoid it at all costs.  Ask the Lord to deliver you each time you hear those evil thoughts go through your mind.

Another woman that attended a church I had visited for a while found out that I spent most of my adult years staying home to care for my husband and children.  She snapped at me one day when she found out I had been taken care of by my husband and I got to stay home with our children.   Her voice sounded quite angry when she said, “Well! That must have been nice!”   I was so shocked by her anger that I did not feel it would be wise to tell her that staying home to care for my children and to be a homemaker was challenging but it was also nice.  It wasn’t always easy but it was nice.

Jeff did want me to be a homemaker.  He had wanted our children to have the best care they could have.  It took me a while to learn to be a homemaker and to learn that even though the job is a serious job there are a multitude of people that think that homemaking and caring for children is a simple task and anyone can do it properly.

Every person is not the best home maker.  The good Lord gave me strength to hold up under a lot of pressure that was placed on me at times.  Keeping a home clean and trying to make sure everyone’s needs are met is not as easy as some people think it is.  The rewards are great when people are thankful for what you have done.  It is usually understood that a homemaker rarely gets a paycheck of her own.  The woman that stays home to help her husband do some things he cannot do while he is on the job could write a resume.  That resume may not be widely accepted by mainstream USA.  The woman that makes a decision to give her best at home gives up the opportunity to start a career while she is younger and physically stronger, too.

I had a husband that appreciated what I did.  OH…….. how he is missed when I think of things like that.   There were nights when we would prepare for rest when I would hear Jeff tell me how he was thankful I could be home with our children.

I also felt as though the hand of the Lord was helping me and guiding me.  I did have more time for Bible study than a lot of people have when they handle a full time job.

You could not have paid me enough money in exchange for the peace I had knowing I did the best I could for my family.

I told the Lord that maybe I just wasn’t one of those people that had enough strength to do what some supermoms do.  I tried to work at other jobs outside of the home while taking care of the children, my husband’s needs, and the house but it was a great task.  The task was so great that I was relieved when Jeff encouraged me to stay at home with the children.  Jeff lovingly called me his secretary.  He could trust me to take care of anything he asked me to do.  He knew I would do my best for the family.

One of the first churches I attended when I got to Florida did our family a favor when they taught us that women should be trained to love their husband and their  children.  See Titus 2:4

Our marriage ties were strengthened because I had energy to share special times with my husband, too.

I woke up every day seeking ways I could share the Word of God with my children.

The Word of God tells us we should not covet anything our neighbor has.   I firmly believe we should be thankful for what we do have and it is wise to make sure you do not covet anything that belongs to another person.

It Is Better To Be Taken Advantage Of Than To Be The One Who Is Taking Advantage Of Another Person

One time many years ago a so-called Christian woman told me about her financial needs.

She knew that my husband, Jeff, and I had given one of her friends some money to help her with buying groceries.

I found out later (by things she ended up saying & doing) that she must have been jealous that the other woman was given help.

The other woman was given help because we found out she had ALS. Giving some money for groceries was the only thing except for praying I felt I could do for the woman that was afflicted with the disease.

The second woman apparently latched on to me acting out the part of a friend long enough to tell me her own sad story. She was healthy but she said she really needed some help financially.

She did not start by asking for money. She asked for a loan that she did not intend to repay.  Jeff and I originally expected the woman would repay the loan.  The time came when Jeff & I made a decision to forgive the woman of the debt since she kept finding excuses for not repaying what she owed.

I still had contact with this woman since she worked at a store that I visited several times. She was a manager at the store.

She found out I was writing a book and she sort of scolded me for asking for money for the book.

She apparently did not know that there is a great deal of time and money spent to get books in print.

It took me quite a while to learn that there are a lot of people who always want handouts and many of them never want to repay their debts.

:'(   It made me sad to realize that she could happily receive free things from other people while she also got paid for the work she did at her job.

She did not recognize the need for a writer to receive compensation for the work they have done.

The first month my testimonial book was in print I found a lot of people that said they wanted to read it and many of them stuck to me like glue trying to get a free copy.  Some people that knew me expected free handouts, too.  They got paid for the work they did but they didn’t understand the need to see that I got paid for the work I had done.

What some of them may not know is that I write and talk about the Lord all the time.

I have willingly shared the gospel and testimonies about the Lord without charge for years. I will continue to share the gospel story with anyone that wants to hear it.

I guess I am reminded of that woman at this time because of how unfortunate it is when we find out there are people out there in the world that are willing to take without giving anything of value in return.

Thankfully we have a Lord that died on the cross for our sins. He freely gave us the most valuable gift that can be given. God will not charge you anything to receive the free gift of eternal life. All you have to do is repent of your sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

I have not seen that deceptive woman for years. She lives hundreds of miles away from me. I don’t miss her con games.

I am thankful for how God used that situation to help me pray I can be more careful with who I give money to and who I put trust in.

I have still made mistakes of giving things to people that were only trying to con me.

Now I just keep asking the Lord to help me endure it all and move forward.

God can and does restore what the locusts have eaten.

I also know that nothing we have on this earth can be taken with us when we leave this place.

The Scriptures remind me it is better to be taken advantage of than to be the one who is taking advantage of another person.

May God send deliverance to those who have not learned that yet.

May the Lord protect us from being too close to those who are greedy in their hearts because bad company corrupts good morals.

Man Shall Not Live By Bread Alone But By Every Word That Proceeds From The Mouth Of God

Babies are given milk when they are first born.

Infants must start with milk before they can digest meat.

I have read and heard that we should desire the pure/sincere milk that comes from God.

  1. Milk is consumed by babies.  Small children need to start with milk before they can digest the meat. This thought was shared in a way to help men recall that there are things in God’s Word that may be a bit too much for some people to understand until they grow more mature in the Lord.
  2. The pure/sincere word of God must be fed to the people of God if they desire growth.

Based on those two thoughts I want to encourage the people of God to remember where your strength and faith comes from.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.

An infant has to be fed but as the infant starts to mature they begin to feed themselves.

The Word of God is the bread of life.  If you want to become more mature you will need to consume God’s Word daily.

The physical food we eat is needed to help us gain strength and to keep us from wasting away.

The spiritual food we eat helps the spiritual man gain strength, too.

Do you want to be stronger in the Lord?

Do you want to be more mature?

If you want those things to happen you will have to partake of the Living Word daily.

I have been blessed to be around some people that have turned their lives over to Christ.  Those people talk about the Lord consistently.

They read God’s Word regularly, too.  They know it is not simply their pastor’s responsibility to teach them everything about God.

A good preacher will teach the flock to invest as much time as they can drawing close to God.

If you really want to be close to God you will need to study God’s Word.

Remember the only people that need help putting food in their mouths are infants and people who are too ill to feed themselves.  ~ Elizabeth Evans Wolfe

Mistakes Men Make

Mankind has an awful habit of repeating things that other men say without checking to find out if the things they are repeating are true.

I was reading from Ecclesiastes 3 this morning.

Verse 18 tells of how God will try or test men.

Ecclesiastes 3:17-18 (NIV)

Now in the (KJV)

I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.”

I have heard some people say that God will never test someone.

Those people probably do not realize what they are saying .  That statement is not true.

We know that the devil is the one who likes to trick and confuse mankind.  Men need to know the truth.  God will judge all people.  All the things that people do on this earth will be examined by God.  God knows the intent of the heart.

Have you ever tasted something to see if you like it?  I believe God is watching things that are said and done by men and women while they live on this earth.

God will judge people according to the things they say and do.

It is possible that men are often confusing the word tested with the word tempted.

People are tempted to do wrong by the evil desires that are within them.

People are purified, refined, and tried by God.  God tries/triest the heart.

God’s Word does say that men will be  tried.  It is understood that this type of trial is a test.  To prove, to try, and to examine are some of the words used to describe a Scripture used in the New Testament.

“For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.” ,  Psalm 66:10 (KJV)

Isn’t it true that things like silver and gold are tested to find out how pure the metal is?

In the book of Daniel we can find these words on the subject:

Daniel 12:10 (KJV), “Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.”

The Prince Of Peace Is Also The Lamb Of God

Jesus is the Lamb of God.

There are other titles given to the Lord.  See Isaiah 9v6 to view some of those names.

Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
