April 2018 Scripture Challenge
The other day my youngest daughter challenged the people in our Bible Study & Prayer Group to begin writing out a Scripture each day then writing a special note about the Scripture.
She told us she wants to personally start doing this to help her recall to read the Bible daily.
I liked the idea. I am going to post some of the Scriptures and notes I’d like to share on this website.
Psalm 118:24, “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Having this Scriptural reminder to rejoice encourages me.
Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Love this! This passage helps me gain strength knowing God helps us accomplish tasks we propose to do.
Psalm 50:10, “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.” This one speaks to me about God’s ability to provide for us and it tells me God already has plenty.
Proverbs 17:22, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” Let’s share happiness with other people.
Matthew 21:22, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”. Three simple words can summarize what is found in this one: PRAY BELIEVE RECEIVE
Philippians 4:6-7, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Another set of Scriptures to bolster our faith about how the Lord wants us to make our requests known to Him. Bonus: Obey the Lord by praying this way and you can receive the peace of God.
Hebrews 13:5-6, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” More direction given here. God’s Word is encouraging.
John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”. God gives us peace that is far greater than any peace the world serves us.
