The Lord speaks about giving dreams and visions to his people in the last days.
You can look in Joel 2 and Acts 2 to view what the Word of the Lord says about this subject.
I’m thankful the Lord also lets us know that “His sheep will know his voice.” John 10:27 KJV,
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
I ask the Lord about dreams that stand out to me. If I receive a dream or vision that is brought to my attention I begin to ask the Lord if there is a message in the dream I have received.
We are shown in the Bible that interpretations for dreams should come from God. As a matter of fact the Word of God tells us that we should always seek counsel from Him.
My own experience with God given dreams astounds me. It seems to me that it would be a greater blessing to hear God so clearly that dreams are not needed. God does not make mistakes. If he chooses to use dreams and visions to speak to anyone then he has a good reason for that! It is a joy to hear from God.
I believe God sends us all sorts of messages. I want to hear from him continuously, don’t you?
Today I remembered a dream I was given. It seemed clear to me that this dream is from God.
I believe it should be shared with other people to encourage them the way it has encouraged me.
I saw white envelopes that were provided for me. I could see that the envelopes were a perfect size for the cards I wanted to send out. I had been given the knowledge to know that now that the envelopes were mine to use all I had to do was work to write the messages, put the addresses on each envelope, and put the stamp on them to mail them.
When I remembered the dream I knew this dream must be from God. I started to ask Him what it could mean. I thought about the first and most prevalent vision in the dream. The envelopes were the things I needed to concentrate on as I prayed asking God what symbolism is being used to help me understand why I was shown the envelopes.
I already know that clean fronts and the color white is symbolism for purity. This instantly made me feel as though it is important for me and for all of God’s people to recall His Word should always be shared in a pure way. There is no other proper way to share God’s Word. The unadulterated Word of God is pure. 1 Peter 2:1-3 NIV, God’s Word says we should, “Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.”
Envelopes are known to be used to carry messages. A message should be placed inside of the envelope before it is sent. Addresses and stamps need to be placed on the envelopes. Envelopes are also used as a covering or a type of container to store things in.
Since this dream was given to me I believe that God is speaking to me using symbols that will mean particular things to me. Most of the time when a dream like this one is given to me it is possible that other members in the body of Christ will be ministered to if I share things I thought about the dream after I asked the Lord to give me the interpretation.
I believe the Lord has many people who are called to share the truth found in His Word with other people.
The symbolism seems to point to the fact that God has provided His people with His Word and He wants us to prepare the messages and to share those messages.
There are actions that need to be taken in order for God’s Word to be shared.
Study God’s Word so you can share His word. [This is a given.]
- Prepare the message. Make the message easy to understand. [Prepare the card or letter that goes in the message. If the message is for a child recall that children need to clearly understand what the message says.]
- Choose who you will share the message with. [Envelopes need an address.]
- Pray asking God to inspire you every time you share a message. [God’s stamp of approval should be on every envelope.]
- Send the message. [When God provides you with a message he expects you to share it.]
Mark 16:15 NIV, He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
Remember you are an able bodied minister of the Word of God. The NIV uses words in 2 Corinthians 3 that says, “You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the Living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. . . our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant – . . . ”
2 Corinthians 3:1-7 NIV,
