Babies are given milk when they are first born.
Infants must start with milk before they can digest meat.
I have read and heard that we should desire the pure/sincere milk that comes from God.
- Milk is consumed by babies. Small children need to start with milk before they can digest the meat. This thought was shared in a way to help men recall that there are things in God’s Word that may be a bit too much for some people to understand until they grow more mature in the Lord.
- The pure/sincere word of God must be fed to the people of God if they desire growth.
Based on those two thoughts I want to encourage the people of God to remember where your strength and faith comes from.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.
An infant has to be fed but as the infant starts to mature they begin to feed themselves.
The Word of God is the bread of life. If you want to become more mature you will need to consume God’s Word daily.
The physical food we eat is needed to help us gain strength and to keep us from wasting away.
The spiritual food we eat helps the spiritual man gain strength, too.
Do you want to be stronger in the Lord?
Do you want to be more mature?
If you want those things to happen you will have to partake of the Living Word daily.
I have been blessed to be around some people that have turned their lives over to Christ. Those people talk about the Lord consistently.
They read God’s Word regularly, too. They know it is not simply their pastor’s responsibility to teach them everything about God.
A good preacher will teach the flock to invest as much time as they can drawing close to God.
If you really want to be close to God you will need to study God’s Word.
Remember the only people that need help putting food in their mouths are infants and people who are too ill to feed themselves. ~ Elizabeth Evans Wolfe
