WOMEN’s FLAWS IN THE MINISTRY

We cannot live on this earth without seeing people who have flaws.

There are times when women who claim to know the Lord do more to harm their fellow Christian friends than they do to help them.

Here is a small list of things I’ve seen or heard from a reliable source  that so-called women of God may do:

  1. Lies or encouraging lies  

  2. Manipulation   

  3. Pride 

  4. Lacks interest in encouraging or helping other women

  5. Takes part in ignoring Scriptural teachings

  6. Seeks for her own selfish needs and wants to be taken care of including the desire she has to be held up above others

  7. Schmoozing 0r sharing charming words with people in order to gain the help she desires to do what she wants / she may also  give gifts to  people to bribe them 

  8. Wanting other people to be more like her instead of more like Jesus

  9. Leading a full life of deception by hiding things / This is not just telling lies / She is not concerned with exposing evil because she does not want the evil things about her exposed

  10. Greed

If you truly love God you and you believe you are guilty of any of these things it is time to seek God’s forgiveness.

If you have met women that are like this  God’s Word says that you should stay away from people like that.

 

The title speaks about women’s flaws in the ministry.   All women can be guilty of these things but women need to be aware of the fact that women who are involved in the ministry may have these sins running rampant in their lives.  They need prayer.  We also need to pray for discernment so we can walk away from people like that.

 

Vengeance Belongs To God – He Will Repay – He Knows Everything

God reminded me of more things  in a dream.

I had met a pastor and his wife decades ago.   I had attended a church where they ministered to people.  I appreciated them.  They showed much kindness.  They appeared to be people that would be led by God.  I thought they would most probably spread the good news for the rest of their lives.

There came a time when they said they were in a group and they would be building a new church.  Funds were taken from people for that purpose.

The pastor’s wife stopped communicating with me.  I was interested in knowing more about the new church.  She ended up letting me know they had stopped plans to build the church even though they had collected 10s of thousands of dollars for that purpose.  My understanding was that the pastor and his wife would be keeping the money they sought for ministry and the funds now became their own personal funds.  It seemed so wrong. 

There are swindlers in the world and swindlers in the church. 

It is swindling when someone takes money for one purpose and they use any portion of that money for a purpose it was not intended to be used for. 

That happened a couple of decades ago.  I felt it was wrong but I do not think that there were  any laws of the land that were broken.   I have met a couple of people involved in the ministry that do things like that on a regular basis.  I have also met people who say they are Christians that will swindle people out of money.  Their greed for money is more important to them then showing God’s love to people.   The ones involved in the ministry take funds using the name of the Lord and then they give themselves and their close family members the cream of the crop.  They say the funds are for the Lord but it is quite clear that they have found ways to legally gain all they can from the funds they touch.  Thankfully I do not believe that all people involved in the ministry do this. 

It appears as though are a lot of people that will take funds from people so they can line their own pockets.  It is scandalous.  It’s sad.  It is also called stealing. 

Many of the things these type of people do are things that go unnoticed.  We do know that God knows what is going on but they seem to lack a true fear of the Lord.   If they really believe in God then they know that He knows what is going on.  They may look like they are fine upstanding citizens and precious members of their local church.  Many people  may not realize that there are tricks of the trade being used in some churches, too. 

I know of a woman involved in banking that heard me tell of a so-called Christian man that intentionally lied in his real estate business.  She told me something about how those were only tricks of the trade.  WHAT?? Tricks of the trade!  Christian people are not supposed to be involved with using tricks in their trade.  That same banker apparently has no problems with tricks in trading.  That person is supposed to be  a Christian, too.

I have friends and family members that can tell true stories about how they have been scammed by business people.  Accountants, bankers, realtors, people who sell cars, people involved in collecting funds for charities, some pastors  … you name it.  If a person deals with making a commission on what they sell or they are involved in a business where money is regularly handled it is quite possible they have found ways to line their own pockets even if it means taking funds from people who have greater needs than they have.  Some business people can not keep their jobs if they don’t bring in the big bucks.  The people they work for expect them to do whatever it takes to bring in lots of money. 

Within the last month I had  that dream that showed me the one swindling pastor.  I saw that his face was marked.  His face had many scars on it.  I now believe it’s possible that each scar represents all the times he harmed other people. 

I prayed about that dream.   I looked up the Scripture about Cain receiving a mark on him.  The Scriptures reminded me that God knows everything people do to harm their brother.  God marks those who are walking in sin.  They may not always be held accountable this side of heaven but God knows what those people have done.  

They will answer to God. 

They should repent.  We pray they will repent and turn away from their sinful ways. 

I am receiving peace and  accepting what I personally cannot change.  I trust God to be faithful.  He will do everything he said he would do. 

God makes many promises in his word.  One of those promises is about vengeance.

Romans 12:19   (KJV), 

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay,  saith the Lord.”

Christian friends,  Are you upset because you found out someone is a swindler,  a liar,  or a cheat? 

Trust in the Lord to tend to those who do what is wrong. 

Pray for the swindlers but stay away from them as much as possible.  Bad company corrupts good morals.  You don’t want to get infected with whatever evil spirits lead them to act in such awful ways.  Pray that they will be delivered.  Look at what the Bible says about swindlers:

Words from Revelation 21,

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Words from 1 Corinthians 6,

9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Words from Galatians 5,

19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Words from Ephesians 5,

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.  Be not ye therefore partakers with them.  For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

 

 

 

Pray That God Will Cleanse You & Heal You If You Have Pain From The Past

Christian single women, If you have been hurt in a past relationship you may want to read this.

I was once told some of these things by a woman that was going through a time of healing. I was reminded of these things when I was praying about a portion of a recent dream.

I believe there are a lot of women out there who seek the Lord and they do want to turn away from the sins and pain of their past.

It has been said and I believe it is true
that it is very good to be cleansed and to become a changed person (new creature in Christ) before you attempt to be involved with another person in a close relationship.

If you do not take time to receive your healing it’s possible you’ll retain things of the past and it will be like going around in circles.

You may need delivered of unholy preconceived ideas and things you learned when you were younger.

If you want to be healthy and whole I will encourage you to talk to the Lord about this asking Him to help you receive a complete healing from the painful things that happened to you in your past.

If you are a married woman and you feel as though you need healed of painful things in the past you can ask God to heal you, too. Your marriage will probably be revived once you receive your healing.

Women Can Prophesy & Pray

1 Corinthians 11 tells us a woman can pray and prophesy.  Surely this means she can speak in church.  I once met a woman that asked me why I felt it was okay to speak openly during our church services.  I was taken aback.  I did not know why it bothered her since the pastor had asked me to share things.  Our pastor used to let people raise their hands or speak up to give testimonies and praise reports.  As a matter of fact our pastor encouraged me to take notes during the sermon and to share whatever I felt led to share with everyone at times.

 

I  felt shut down when the woman pointed out the passage in another place in the Bible that says women should be silent in church.   I knew I had heard a pastor explain that some people were not fully understanding what was meant in that passage.   I was  not prepared to know how to explain it to that woman.  She was cold-hearted and her goal seemed to be to shut me up.  Isn’t that exactly what the devil wants?  The devil doesn’t want people who love the Lord to keep on talking about the Lord.  The enemy does not want us to overcome him by giving our testimonies.   Was that woman  jealous because the pastor asked me to take notes and he encouraged me to share testimonies like several other people at the church were doing?  I don’t know.  I just know that the devil used that woman’s words to shut me up for a time.

I sort of ran away from the situation.  She made me feel uncomfortable so I looked for another church to attend.  She was one of two women that had done something that made me feel uncomfortable so I chose to move on. 

I should have probably talked to the pastor about the problem but I did not want to gossip.  UGH!! How many times do we stop talking about a problem for fear we are going to be  a gossip?  It’s not a sin to discuss a problem you need help with.  I did not want to walk in sin.  I struggled with knowing how to get help with my problem without mentioning exactly how badly I felt when that woman confronted me in that way.  I now believe it was her way of manipulating a situation to make me very uncomfortable.   I didn’t want to upset the woman who apparently thought it was wrong that women were joining the men by giving testimonies and praise reports when the pastor made a request for people to do that.  How was it that she couldn’t understand that the pastor had encouraged men and women to participate during the church services?  Was she really so backwards in her thinking that she thought it was sinful for a woman to talk at church? 

The matter was too big for me.  I did not know the answers. 

I still don’t know all the answers to every problem encountered in a church. 

I have now learned by reading I Corinthians 11 that it is implied that women can speak by praying and prophesying in a church.  I have always believed that a woman can speak at church if the leader at the church gives her permission to do that.  It’s called submitting to the one who is in authority.

Most of our churches today allow women to be involved in the church services.  Women are allowed to take part in and enjoy fellowship.

I am sure I can share the reminder she gave to me about how the Lord appeared to  Mary after he rose up from the dead.  Jesus is the one that told Mary to go tell the disciples about his resurrection.  Janet pointed out that our Lord picked a woman to be the first evangelist.  How awesome is that?

She also told me what I should have done decades ago when that woman in a church did what she could to shut me up.  I’m thankful that God uses everything to work together for good.  That old experience proves to me that we need people who are grounded in the Word of God to encourage us.  God’s people need to study his Word.  They should be prepared to rightly divide God’s Word rather than pull passages out of context to try to destroy other people.

I was not knowledgeable how about how to address the problem back then.  I am not sure how I would handle similar circumstances today.

Several Christian friends of mine were concerned when I left the church. I was so concerned about staying away from  gossip that I just left without fully explaining the problems I encountered.  I’m sure this happens to people some times.  They don’t want the extra problems that come forth when people get their feathers ruffled.  They don’t want to be in a place where someone makes them feel as though they are not welcome.

The odd thing about that past situation was the woman that spoke up to me in an ugly way was a woman that rarely attended the church but she had married an elder at the church. Her husband had gone to the church for years.   Maybe she was using her manipulation to try to make that church into the type of church she wanted to attend regularly. Manipulation is a form of control.  The devil loves to find people that want to take control of other people.  I tend to walk away from people who manipulate other people.  I understand that manipulating people are being controlled by the devil.  They may not know the devil is using them.  They act like pharisees of old.

The women referred to about not talking in church was not about teaching, preaching or testifying but causing a commotion and interrupting the service and flow of the Spirit. I envision it as untrained children talking, whispering, laughing, etc. If God didn’t want females in active ministry to the saints, why did Jesus rise from the dead on the 3rd day, meet with Mary and send her to go tell His disciples of His Resurrection? Our Lord chose a female as His first evangelist! You should have just spoken the truth to that woman and let her know you were submitting to your Pastor. That would have shut the mouth of the roaring lion! Love you! I wonder how many others she has confronted and stopped or postponed the testimony of our Lord Jesus?”

 

 

 

 

Yes, I felt this is definitely a message for God fearing women.

When I woke up on 2/25/2017 I recall it seemed as though a scrambled set of events had taken place in a dream.
I knew I wanted to know if the dreams I had were from the Lord. I began to pray.
 
I realized right away that confusion is not from God. I persevered in prayer and started to write what I remembered about the dreams. There were two sections to the dream. The prayer was effective. God showed me that the confusion was sent by the devil. When I focused on wanting to hear what message the Lord would give me as I prayed that he would give me an interpretation for the dreams everything started to look clear to me. The eyes of my understanding woke up.
 
In the first portion of the dream I saw us in a place where we were supposed to travel away leaving where we used to live. I came to realize that place represented a holding place. It seemed as though it was actually a place that included thoughts from my past. I believe God wants us to receive healing about things of the past so we can move forward.
 
The things that once happened to us are to be put behind us as we press on toward the high call of God. The past lessons can be remembered to help us move forward but we are not supposed to stay where we were.
 
When I tried to travel away the process was S L O W. I was slow about moving away and it seemed as though I would be
 
going in a circle. I know that is not a good thing to do. You just end up right where you started.
 
When I tried to leave the spot where I had been I was feeling ill and I was moving so slow. My progress was unbelievable.
 
I could barely walk. Another day passed after I began to pray about this dream. I now believe that the illness I felt in the dream was how sick we can be if we keep trying to live in the past. Living in the past pulls at us in a horrible way. Living like that can keep us from being healthy and whole.
 
I left my keys by the road thinking if I had to go back around that way again I’d just pick up the keys
on the second time around so I wouldn’t have to walk or try to run. I realized walking was not going to get me where I wanted to go swiftly enough to help me escape those old surroundings. I wanted to move on but it seemed clear to me that a cleansing and healing would be needed before I went any further or I’d just go around to places I had been before.
 
I went back in the home where we were apparently visiting. Hmmm visiting reminds me that this old earth is not our home. We are just visitors for a while. While we are here we sure do want to enjoy the visit as much as possible.
 
Inside that home (the place that was not our own home) we saw that there were some men standing by that were waiting on us to check us out. Those men acted like supervisors. We were not uncomfortable but we did want to keep them from seeing us when we changed our clothing or showered.
 
Our natural sense of being modest was clear.
 
We did everything we could to keep ourselves clean and to be chaste. The men respected us but it was clear that IF we had done anything to expose ourselves they would naturally see us.
 
We did not raise ourselves up in a place where it would be even easier for our unclothed bodies to be exposed. We had to take the old clothes off so we could take showers. I recall looking up to a small platform that was raised from the ground. It had a bar as a rail to help keep people from falling. I wondered if a shower curtain of some sort could be placed around us if we went up on the platform. It became very clear to me that it was not wise or simple to go up there.
 
I looked at my youngest daughter telling her I had left those truck keys outside on the road. I had placed the keys at the edge of the road.  I knew they would be out of the way of common traffic and I could find them again.   I explained that I had been too tired to travel alone and the trip was too wearisome.
 
It was useless to leave at that time if we were going to simply go around the block to return to the same spot where we started.
 
I knew those keys needed to be restored before they were picked up by someone else. I recall thinking that surely
I would receive the keys back and the next time we’d probably just start out by using the truck instead of walking.
 
If you don’t have strength to run on the trip then you better go ahead and drive if you have the things you need to drive.
 
It seems to me that this message was possibly given to remind us there is a time to move forward away from all the past way of living.

 

We should always move away from anything that hinders us from being where God wants you to be.
Living a life being chaste and clean is vital for the Christian woman, too. I also think the cleansing was needed before we were able to move away from the past.
 
We are not supposed to keep going around in circles doing the same old things without changing.
A person that will not change or conform to obeying the Lord is walking in disobedience to God.
 
The keys were most probably symbolic of provision to move away faster out of need.
Some times the devil pushes people to move fast out of fear but
that is not always the reason when someone moves swiftly.
 
God has told people to leave in haste before and he can do that again.
 
When God makes a way for you to move and tells you it is time to go then you will receive the keys for how to accomplish the task.
 
Be ready to go when he says it is time to go. He will make a way and he will provide you with everything you need when it is time to go.
 
You will be moving far away from the things of the past. You won’t have to go around in circles or leave empty handed.
 
The new path you are to take will be the right path.
 
There will be no more going around in circles or being as if you are so ill you can barely walk if you take time to be cleansed. The Christian woman is to recall she should not raise herself up above men and she should remain chaste.
 
The reminder to be chaste is vital. Women who walk with God are called to be different than the other women in this old world today.
 
This place is not our home.
 
We should be cleaned up (made right with God asking him to cleanse us and set us free from the sins of the past and changing our way of living if the Lord has shown us in His Word that there are things we need to change) and we need to protect ourselves from letting men see us act or do anything that provokes a man to see or think things that they should not be seeing or thinking.
 
A God fearing woman will not use the ways of the world to entice a man to want her.
 
I recall that there were decent men that naturally loved it when they could see that a woman would not reveal herself to them in a way that is wrong.
 
She did not lift herself up above the man in any way either. She knew that it was clearly wrong to lift herself up above the man.
 
I read this and recall the blessing of those keys being there on the road waiting to be picked up when it is time to move forward. I feel sure that even though I was once concerned that the keys could possibly be taken by someone else surely God will see to it that the keys are provided when they are needed.
 
  • // Next portion of the dream showed two men.
 
These men reminded me of tv personalities but they were not identified in the dream. The fact that they reminded me of actors makes me think about the fact that many people idolize actors. It is definitely not good for a woman to make a man her idol.
 
The two men in this dream showed interest in me as a possible mate.
 
I had not been searching for a mate. The matter is in prayer. One of the men had the type of personality shown in tv shows where he always seems to show kindness but he steps back and lets other men step in when a woman is involved. He felt inferior in some ways to the other man. The other man was famous and wealthy. The one man falsely thought that he would not be able to stack up against the man that was famous.
 
They both eventually approached me at the same time.
 
Many things were going on. I could see some of the things they said to one another even though they did not know I could hear and see them. I was given keen discernment but I did not know either one of them very well. I was watching and learning all I could since they talked about me.
 
The wealthy & famous man wanted an opportunity to date me. He planned on being very respectful. The other man wanted a chance to date me, too. The famous man had people all around him. He had people to take care of all his desires.
 
The man who did not have a lot of confidence wanted to try to ask me for a date before the wealthy man asked but he failed to do that. They worked together with a goal to ask if I would date the wealthy man. I watched them and did not know for sure how long it would take them to approach me in a kind and cautious manner. For a short while I did think it may be nice to get to know one of them.
 
Details, too many details, were being shown to me . A time came when the wealthy man approached me giving me a basket of food. All kinds of food were presented to me. I could tell the other man was disappointed that he had not come to me first. I think about his behavior now and ponder on the fact that a woman does not really want a man that won’t step up to the plate and be one who is motivated. In the dream I had not come to that conclusion yet. I was waiting to see what would happen. I wanted to see how serious the men were about capturing my attention.
 
The wealthy man was disappointed (or so it seemed at a later time) that I looked at the second man, too.
It was as if he wanted all eyes on him. He was used to getting all the attention he wanted.
 
I recall telling them both that I wanted to see what ingredients they put in that food.
I wanted to know what the food was made of. I also wanted to know what the men were made of. I wanted to see the ingredients that they would give to someone. Did they care what they dished out? Were they concerned about how a person can be affected by the contents of the food they were sharing? It would tell me what type of person they were if I knew exactly what they would give away.
 
It was real to me. I knew that it was right and good for me to discover who they were and what they were made of, too. I could not date either one of them without knowing them.
 
Unfortunately they did not seem as though they were willing to wait for me to discover what they were made of.
 
I held the basket of food in front of me telling them I’d check it all out. They looked so disappointed.
I was disappointed, too. I woke up thinking I realize it is sad when people are not able to marry and connect with a partner right away but I also realize the importance of waiting on the Lord and making sure anyone you date as a possible mate is a person that is sold out for the Lord.
 
It does not matter how charming they are ( like the quiet man in the dream) or how much money and fame the person has
(that was the wealthy man in the dream) if they are not made of good stuff the match is not made in heaven.
 
I felt as though this portion of the dream can be used to remind women how important it is to get to know a man well before she would date a man when considering marriage. Every true Christian knows that believers are supposed to be with believers. Many believers are finding out nowadays that there are people who only pretend to care about the things of God. You really do need to find out what they are made of.
 
When I reviewed these notes on the morning of 2/27/2017 I realized that there is another message in the second portion of the dream.
 
Since pastors are supposed to feed the sheep I thought about how important it is to choose a good pastor.
 
Find out what the pastor is made of before you submit yourself to his leadership.
 
If they don’t dish out good food you don’t want to be eating what they dish out. 
 
Any pastor that shares fables instead of the truth is one that should be avoided.
 
A mean spirited dominating and controlling man should be avoided, as well.  A good pastor needs to have self-control. 
 
A man that wants all the attention on him instead of on the Lord is not a good pastor.
 
A man that won’t step up to the plate with confidence has some problems, too.
 
Look for a pastor that is made of good things. You will know people by the fruit they bear.
 
We will have to pray and trust God to help us find good pastors.

Another Dream From The Past / 1980

God given dreams are wonderful.

It has been a long time since I first enjoyed beautiful dreams. I had one dream where I danced with the Lord. I didn’t even know at the time that God speaks to him people through dreams.

I met a woman named Marie Paton when I worked at GTE in Sarasota, FL.

Marie told me about how we are to pray like the people in the Bible prayed when they had dreams that seemed significant.

I told her about the dream I had when I danced with Jesus. She responded with an interpretation for me that clearly made sense to me in some ways and other things were brought to my mind later when the things in the dream came to pass.

The dancing with Jesus was symbolism of my closer walk with God when I began to draw closer to the Lord in 1980.

I told Marie how I saw more in the dream where I was helping save children after I danced with Jesus.

Marie believed that was symbolism that God would use me to minister to children.

That came to pass.

Several children believed in Jesus and they asked him to forgive them of their sins.

Children of all ages ended up being brought in my path so I could share the gospel story with them.

How amazing it is to have dreams like that then to see how God brings it all to pass.

 

Thank God for the interpretations he gives us to help guide us.

 

I believe he also uses dreams to prepare us for certain things. 

 

Some dreams may have warnings that help spare us from danger.

 

Other dreams can be a call for prayer.

 

Dreams can be a form of preparation to let us know that something is going to happen and there is nothing we can do to stop it from taking place. 

 

God is in control.

 

Pray asking God for the interpretation of dreams that stand out to you.  Ask him if there is anything in the dream that is meant to give you assistance or direction. 

 

God is faithful.

 

God’s children will know his voice.  He will speak to his children in a way they can understand him.  His sheep know his voice.

January 2017 Dream & Memories of a 7 Year Old Dream

I remembered another dream I had about 7 years ago after I had prayed for the interpretation of a new dream.  

I remembered there would be warnings, there would be divisions or a parting of ways, and there would possibly be deaths.   ←  That is part of the message from the seven year old dream.   

In the new dream several things caught my attention that caused me to believe it is time for me to pray about some personal cleansing.  Another portion of this new dream showed me a  man.  This man showed me a tool that could quickly divide things without a problem.

I wondered if that part of the dream had anything to do with  divisions or parting of ways again. 

 

Maybe the Lord is preparing me once again to understand that it is his time for more parting of ways. 

 

These things are not in my control. 

I have to learn to keep trusting in God no matter what happens. 

His will.  His way.  His timing.  Keep trusting in God.

I also went into prayer earlier in the evening. 

During my prayer time I was reminded of the words, “Joy comes in the morning.” 

 

Those words do make me think of those who walk with the Lord going to be with the Lord.  They may suffer for a night but when they leave this old world behind their joy comes in the morning.

 
How pleasant it is for those who have received the free gift of salvation that comes from believing in the Lord Jesus Christ when they leave this old earth.  Pleasant for them when they walk with the Lord whole  and healed for eternity.  Sorrowful for those who they leave behind. 
 
Torment and sorrow comes to those who continue to  refuse the free gift of salvation.

On this page you will find notes from Elizabeth Evans Wolfe with an update about the book called, “Jonah, Go to Nineveh.”
Eve Pipkin made new pictures for the book a few years ago.  The pictures she sent this way have been reformatted so the next printed version may be made.  The photos were made in assorted sizes.  I had to find the right digital page making material to get the photos and the print made all one size so we could reprint the books.  December of 2016 I was able to work on the digital drawings and placement of words again.  It took two years for me to gain the knowledge how to do this.
I have learned many things about digital printing during the past few years.  I had to learn to do these things because I kept finding a few people that acted as though the task was nearly impossible.  I just needed more prayer, time, energy, and the right materials so I could get the job done.

 
I used to hear something about how it takes times to perfect things.  I think that is true.  One day I thought it would be nice if I could write notes for my grandchildren to tell them all the steps that have been taken to get this small children’s book made.  I will make notes here now in case I don’t get time to write out better details in the future:
(1) When it was first written I wrote it on paper.  
(2) I graduated to using a small word processor. 
(3) The stick man drawings were placed on pieces of paper with the typed words placed somewhere near the drawings. 
Info about the stick man drawings:  The stick man drawings were originally made just to give my friend, Genevieve, an idea of what type of photos I thought would go well with the words on each page of the book.  Genevieve made that request.  Genevieve did not get time to work on making the new drawings for the book. She did not see the stick man drawings until after we got the  books with the stick man drawings printed at Vision Printing in 1995.    Genevieve took one look at the stick man drawings and said something like, “The simplicity of those drawings is beautiful.”  — More info about the stick man drawings:  I definitely thought those stick man drawings did not appear to me to be professional drawings.  Jeff was a bit of a perfectionist.  Being married to him caused me to learn to strive to make things the best way I could make them.  During the time when I was making the stick man drawings (for Genevieve to use for ideas) a young boy  was visiting our home.  I was working hard on the project while the children were supposed to be playing.   This young boy didn’t want to play with the other children.  For some reason he wanted to be watching me while I pasted cut out pictures I had drawn on paper to the typed sheets of paper.  [This was back when copy and pasting was done by using old fashioned copiers that were found at a library or one of the local stores and pasting meant using scissors to cut the pictures out from one piece of paper and glue from a bottle to paste the pictures onto the paper.]  The young boy watched me then he began to ask questions.  He wanted to know what I was doing.  I told him how the drawings were being made so I could show Genevieve what type of photos she could draw for my children’s book.  I told him how I had seen her drawings before.  I felt she drew very well.  I wanted her to make professional illustrations for the book.  I worked very hard to get those pictures pasted on the papers so I could go make new prints of the pages to show Genevieve.  The young boy told me he liked the pictures just the way they were.  I think he said that to me more than one time.   I finally got the pages finished so I quickly went to the local store to pay for the pages to be printed with the stick man drawings on them.   I was not able to get in touch with Genevieve to show her the new pages with the drawings I had made.  I told Jeff what the young boy had said to me about the stick man drawings.  Jeff told me to get the books printed with the stick man drawings.  I was surprised that he said that.  I did find a local printing company that helped us print the books with the new drawings in them.  I was encouraged that the book was printed even though I later found out there were several typos that were not discovered in a timely manner.   NOW we needed to find the young boy who had encouraged me to print the books with the drawings.  We had moved.  His family had moved.  How were we going to find him?   We prayed and went on with our daily lives.  One day we were traveling.  I had copies of the book in the automobile.   Jeff had a habit of stopping at stores to get himself a soda pop several times during a trip.   He stopped at a local store to get a soda.  He took our three youngest children in the store with him.  The children ran out to the van to let me know they saw the young man in the store.  That young boy and his mother were in the same store at the same time my family had gone there.  My children knew I had prayed that I could meet the boy again to give him a copy of the book with those drawings in it.  I was elated.  God had answered our prayer about this.  I walked inside to give the young boy the book and to tell his mother how we prayed that we could find him.  The young boy and his older sister had asked Jesus Christ into their hearts when they visited our home.  I have not seen anyone from the family since that day in the store.  I am delighted that God orchestrated things the way he did.  I felt as though God used all of these things to help me learn to obey him in all things.  I think I liked those drawings because the boy liked the pictures I had drawn. Isn’t it amazing how God can use other people to encourage us?  I thought my drawings were too simplistic.   Genevieve said she felt they were beautiful.  I thought those stick men were not professional enough to be printed and copyrighted.  A young boy and my husband told me they were good enough to be put in print.   I had a hard time letting go of the stick men because it even felt as though God was telling me the stick men were good enough.  Thank Jesus.
(4) The books were printed and reprinted so we could share the words in that book with people.  Vision printing printed the books two different times.  The next time we wanted to get the books printed we couldn’t find the printing company so we had to find another route for getting them printed.
(5) Computers changed the way books can be made at home.  I didn’t know how to print them myself.  It took time to learn new things.  I did not have a lot of extra time.  I did not have anyone to teach me.  I was going to have to learn some things for myself and find some other people that knew how to help me.  Time passed and Jeff passed.  My life turned upside down.
(6) I learned how to go to a store to get the pages to pass through a scanner in order to have the pictures and words placed on a device that saves things for a computer.  The only problem was it didn’t save them in printed form.  The words were blurry when we tried to reprint.  That seemed to be a waste.  I had given Genevieve copies of the book.  She leads a very busy life, too.  She did not get time to make any drawings for the book.   She is one of those lovely women that spends a lot of time with her family.  The fact that she had told me how to get my stick men drawn had already been a help to me.  I believe the good Lord knew Genevieve wouldn’t have time for the drawings but he also knew her idea of having me make the simple drawings would help me stay on task.  Seeing those little books that needed improvement kept me working hard to try to make it all better.
(7) I kept getting the books printed in generic ways.  I still wanted someone like Genevieve to be able to give me some professional drawings for the book.  I wanted it to show improvement.  I wanted children to enjoy it more.  I wanted parents to be happy to give a professional looking booklet with a good message to their children.  I also wanted to make the book better to share it with my own grandchildren.  It would be nice if they could see the old book with the stick men drawings change.  Some changes are very good.  I thought surely there is a way to make it even better than it was before.

   
(8)  Years have passed right by me.  I worked hard on the book called, “God’s Gracious Gift”  so we could get it printed again in 2010. I won’t write more about that at this time.  I’ll just write that it is one of the many things that kept me from focusing on getting the children’s book focused on for a season.  A number of generic copies of “Jonah, Go to Nineveh”  were made to share with people in 2010.  I wanted my grandchildren to have something from me that would help them recall some things about God.  Aren’t we supposed to leave them a legacy?  This is one of the most important things I want to leave my family.  If they can have reminders of the things of God they will be blessed.  I talked to professional printing companies about making the children’s book better but they usually had a problem with giving clear and concise answers about cost.  I am not the type of person that likes open ended answers when it comes to cost.  Unfortunately I was beginning to learn more about the tricks used in the trade.  Working with printing and publishing companies is  not always a pleasant experience.  If you are not a well known author it will be much harder to get books published and printed.   I said it is harder.  I did not say it is impossible.
(9) I contacted Eve Pipkin through the internet.  I met Eve when she was still a teen aged girl.  We briefly lived near to one another in Bradenton, FL.  Eve let me know she had made drawings for another children’s book.  She let me know she wanted to give me a gift of making drawings for the children’s book I had written.  I am reminded that the Word of God tells us that a worker should be paid for the work done.  Eve was sent payment for the digital drawings she sent this way.  Eve worked very hard to get me the nice drawings she made for the book.  She did not expect anything in return.  The payment she was sent was commensurate upon  a donation that was given to get the book placed online for a season.    The internet has changed.   It is now possible to send digital books and things like that through regular email.  The digital work had to be sent slowly some times because the attachments are so large.  It took years for Eve to complete the drawings because she was going to school and doing other things while she worked on the drawings.  I received the drawings but the digital photos did not come through matching up so that they could all be printed in the same size.  I also found out that it was difficult to put words on the photos for various reasons.  What was I going to do now?
(10) UPDATE 12/25/2016:  It’s Christmas Day 2016 and it appears as though we will get the book printed again in 2017.  I found out how to work with the pictures Eve provided to get the book printed again with the words on each page.  I was able to print some copies of the book seeing that it’s better than it was before.  I am happy with the present results at this time.  There may be a number of improvements in the future.  Good Lord willing, we will get a new Library of Congress number on the book and find out if we can use the ISBN number that we used before or if I am able to use the one that was purchased for it years ago. 
Can you believe that I left a lot of details out of this writing?
I wanted people to be able to see that hard work brings success. 

It may take a lot of baby steps to get things the way you’d like to see them but if you work hard you can accomplish many things. 

I have learned a lot about publishing books.  I have definitely not learned all there is to know about getting them made and printed.  ← I do know that several people may ask you to help them get their own books published or edited.  They some times do not realize about the work involved with writing and editing books. 

Eve told me she thinks it’s great to be able to hold a book in your hands.  I think she is right about that.  It is also nice to get books put in the digital format so they can be read online. 

We used to have a digital form of the book on this website but that is changing, too.

I’ve also been able to accept the fact that everything isn’t finished when you want it finished.  It’s okay to slow down to complete certain tasks.  Some things may sit on the shelf for a good long time.

 
It can be fine, good, and acceptable to wait for specific deeds to be processed.

That makes me think about how a person’s life can become brand new if they allow the Lord to transform them.

Note about the 2015/2016 Love God Love One Another shirt design:  Abigail Elisabeth Wolfe was asked if she would like to help create a new design/logo.  She quickly responded by showing her Grandmother Wolfe a drawing that is similar to the digital picture you can view.  Her Grandmother helped her decide which words would look best draped over the top of the picture.  It’s a hit!  The message is perfect.  God’s Word is the best news ever!  Thanks, Abby.  Thanks for helping create this new logo.  So glad you were able to receive your shirts and thankful you made the wonderful drawing that helped us come up with a digital that turned out a lot like the picture you drew.
