Some Churches Are Not Using Good Common Sense

santa and satan have a lot in common - one is a lie and the other is a liar - satan comes to steal kill and destroy - satan is the father of lies - satan sends for lying spirits among the people to try to continue to steal the glory of God in any way satan can do that - ONE DAY EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL CONFESS THAT JESUS CHRIST IS LORD.

Maybe the title should say that some churches and people who call themselves Christians are not using good common sense.

How can people say they are telling you the truth about God when they also condone telling lies? Many of these people will tell some of their lies while they are attending church.

When I attended church as a youth we heard how preachers and sunday school teachers took time to tell the story of Jesus at church.

I was blessed to spend the first several decades of my life being able to attend churches where they did what the Scriptures to tell us to do when we gather together for fellowship with believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.  [There are some Chapters from the Bible included at the bottom of this writing that tell us what we are supposed to share when we gather together for fellowship.]

Slowly through the years things have changed. You can walk into a lot of churches nowadays and you will find that even though many of them still talk about the Lord there are many who will allow fables to be shared during their services. Some of them allow this a few times a year and some will allow it almost any time they feel a notion to allow it. It does make good sense for a church to share fables/lies with people at church.  It never makes good sense for a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ to partake in telling lies.

The Biblical answers for what is supposed to be shared during fellowship does not include pretending that there is a santa claus or an easter bunny to please the people that think it is so much fun to tell lies to their children.   I also fail to see why any Christian thinks it is okay for them to tell lies to their children and grandchildren. I am sincerely saddened to see a constant reminder of how some so-called Christians care more about the traditions of man than they care about obeying the Lord by speaking the truth in love.   I am sure no one can come up with a good reason for exchanging the truth for lies.   I would think it would be far better to say nothing at all than it would be to tell lies.   People who continue to walk in sin do it because they want to do their own thing rather than do what God tells them to do. I don’t know of any spot in the Bible where it says it is okay to sin because so many people call it a fun thing to do. The Bible says to be angry but we are not to let the anger cause us to sin. There are times when I sincerely need God’s help for me to learn how to cope with the fact that some pastors and people that call themselves Christians really do not seem as though they want to walk with the Lord.  Apparently  they fear  they might miss out on worldly traditions made by men.  It is sinful to make anyone or anything more important than God.

Ephesians 5King James Version (KJV)

5 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Also See – Colossians 3King James Version (KJV)

3 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
