& Thoughts Shared by Elizabeth Wolfe, For Fellow Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ

It’s Not Good To Live A Double Life

We can see several examples in the Bible that shows sibling rivalry began with the first two children that were born from a woman.

Cain killed his brother, Abel.

Joseph was treated harshly by his brothers & even though God used the situation for good those brothers did not ever seem to fully understand how great God’s love is or how much different they were than their brother, Joseph.

I love the story of Joseph because it reminds me that doing what is right in the eyes of the Lord is much more important than being a people pleaser or a family pleaser.  It also reminds me that there are siblings who cannot be trusted to show care to their own family members.

Let’s face it.  Some people are just very selfish.  They always have been and if they don’t get right with God they always will be.

Selfish minded people can walk in a church and they may even serve in some way at your local church but they are found wanton.

You see, the Bible tells us that selfishness comes from the devil.  It is an earthly trait that needs to be destroyed in the life of each person that comes to the Lord.

Any time a person does something to steal from their parents, their siblings, or their fellow man they are proving that they do not care about the love of God.

Those who walk with God may some times call one another brother or sister even if they are not close blood relatives.

When you walk with the Lord and you have made him the Lord of your life you are adopted into the kingdom of God.  When you are able to call God   “Father”   you are also able to call your God fearing church family members brother or sister.

I believe the good Lord wants us to remember those special words that remind us to do unto others as we would like them to do unto us.

If you truly want to follow Jesus it’s time to pray that you can prove it by your actions.  God is watching.  Even if no one else sees the kind things you do God sees it.

On the other hand it’s also known that each person that gives pain or trouble to a child of God will one day be held accountable for those actions.  God’s Word makes it clear that one day those who do what is wrong will have to answer to God.  Look at what it says here in 2 Thess.

2 Thessalonians 1:6-9 (NIV),
“God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you  and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.  He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.  They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.”

I believe there are some people who claim that they love the Lord who will one day find out that they have a  need to really get right with the Lord or they will not be among the Godly.  You see, they may claim they know the Lord but the Word of the Lord says we will know people by the fruit they bear.

God’s people will not be the type of people that steal from other people.  God’s people will not be using tricks of the trade to line their pockets with more money.  God’s people will not be treating other people in ways that they themselves would not like to be treated.

You can tell who really loves the Lord by seeing how those people really act.  This is one reason that I am delighted to know that God is the final judge.  God sees everything.  God knows when a person secretly and selfishly does things for their own personal gain.  God knows when a person is just saying they love Him and when that person is really walking with him.

A person that does not fear God may say and do awful things that only God can see.  No one, absolutely no one will be rewarded in a good way if they continue to walk in sin doing awful things.

A person that is saved by grace may slip and they may do something that is wrong.  We  all get our feet dirty while we walk on this earth.  I am thankful that God gives us time to turn away from things we have done that are wrong.  Some of us may take longer to get that closer walk with God than others.    It is important that God’s people learn to stop acting like the Sadducees, the hypocrites, and the Pharisees.   We have the opportunity to accept the Lord into our hearts and we can choose whether or not we will truly allow God to be our #1.

Some people put themselves on the pedestal instead of allowing God to be their first love.  Walking in the church door doesn’t make you a Christ follower.  Going to the altars made by human hands doesn’t mean you’ve done all you need to do to get right with God.  There is something called “getting right with God” that each person needs to do.  It’s a spiritual thing.  We can’t earn the way to get right with God.  We must choose that walk by faith.  The just shall live by faith.

Salvation is truly a free gift from God.  The same grace of God that saves us is the same grace of God that helps us begin to live for the Lord.  It is very important to recall that we cannot earn salvation.  Jesus paid that price.  It is also important for a lot of people that say they love God to know that God’s Word is true and he says that there will be certain people that will not be in heaven.  I have written and talked about those passages before.  Those who claim to love the Lord may be given thousands of opportunities to be convicted by God’s Holy Spirit of anything wrong they have done.  Every person gets the freedom to decide if they are going to be those who do what is right or if they are going to be the type of people that only speak about doing what is right.

THAT’S THE GRACE OF GOD, TOO!   If you live on this earth long enough to be convicted of your sins in such a way that you turn away from your sins you can truly be called a member of the family of God.   God will not contend with man forever though.  A man may or may not get a 100 or more years to get things right with God.

I feel sad when I think of the people who continue to declare that they know God & that they follow God yet they are still following the devil when they speak lies, or when they con other people out of money, or they do other evil things.

We can pray for those type of people asking God to help them turn from their wicked ways.  God may also call those who have been delivered of evil doings to gently speak to those who are still walking in darkness.  It is sorrowful to hear someone say they love God and to then see how their actions do not prove they have made God their highest priority.

We can also live our lives doing what we know is right and remembering that we should not be boastful or proud of anything about us.

Those who are saved are saved by God’s grace so that no person can boast.

Some so-called brothers and sisters who say they love the Lord need to repent.

Yes,  I have met people that sit in a church regularly & they may even pay tithes regularly but some of those same people do awful things.

God can save anyone from their sin.  Those who are walking with the Lord are supposed to pray for those who do what is wrong.

Remember God is the one who takes vengeance.

One day the good Lord will take vengeance on all who do not repent.  It will happen just like God’s Word says it will happen so keep on praying for those you know who are living a double life.

Matthew 7:21-23  (KJV),
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

Revelation 22  (KJV),
“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
